Scott has spent the last 10+ years in higher education focusing on cybersecurity and data driven topics. He has patent for visual defect detection in automated production. He has also presented at major academic conferences on the topics of cybersecurity, cyber education, machine learning, and computational complexity.
Scott has held positions in security and system administration roles at Michigan Technological University, the University of North Dakota, and IBM. He has also taught various courses at Augsburg University and the University of Minnesota.
Scott holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree, both from the University of North Dakota.

Scott is a Jeopardy and trivia buff. He can also be found hiking or snowshoeing with his wife and dogs in the northern wilderness.
